I'm about to upgrade

Not in a support

After-sale handholding; something many software vendors

I believe that you may be able to run CF8 on Vista 64 bit but it must be ran as a 32 bit application.

And that 64 bit support for Solaris SPARC is available only under the CF8 Enterprise Edition.
