I'd like to take a crack at some simple encryption, like2 or 4 bit.
Any place I could go for some help?
Can I use an
open source language/
compiler ?
I do not have enough $$ yet.
thanks
a lot

2 or 4 bits? Try and implement "rot13"-algorithm.

C or JAVA will be fine.--
Do not be concerned, it won't harm you,
It's only me pursuing something I'm not sure of,
Across my dreams, with neptive wonder,
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love.

I kinda HATE c,c++ but JAVA seems to be a TAD easier.

gcc is free for C and C++, among other languages.
Sun's JAVA is free:
http://JAVA.sun.com
It's also at least partly open source.
Did you look around at all for these? You should have found out about Sun's
JAVA almost right away with even the most cursory search. GIYF.
