I am run ning ColdFusion 7.02 but am seeing the bug described in Bug #61272 which caused ColdFusion Scheduler tasks to be executed twice periodically. My understanding was
that this bug was fixed in ColdFusion 7.02. Is there another known bug that'd be
causing this behavior?

We've several times found customers running mutliple instance s of ColdFusion that
were copied in various ways - like with a ColdFusion CAR file . Each instance is then
running the same task.

What does logging show - is a single instance running the same task twice?
Have you tried deleting and recreating the task?

I have this problem as well. We updated from 6.1+ to 7,0,2,142559 and I get two jrpp- threads running simultaneously

I have a scheduled task problem that may or may not be related to yours for
which I have not found a solution. Every month or so my server (CF7.02) "locks
up" and requires a restart of the service. At the time of the lock up the
scheduler .log shows that all of my scheduled tasks have kicked off at the same
time ( I have about 26 that fire off throughout the night and all are in the
log file at the lockup time).

Did you replace the 6.1 instance or did you run it in parallel with the
7 version, a popular upgrade path? I have seen people report this type
of problem before because they have two versions of Cold Fusion running
and both versions have the task scheduled. Thus, of course, the task is
run twice.

We haven't been able to determine the root cause of the problem. The problem
isn't resolved by recreating the task. The problem still happens
occassionally with long running tasks. We decided to put in a work around so
that the scheduled task checks to see if an instance of it is current running
and then terminates the task if it is a duplicate.

6.1 is no longer running. The problem happens only occassionally which'd
also not be consistent with the task being actually scheduled twice. My only
theory is that since these tasks are long running, perhaps Cold Fusion assumes
they have failed or timed out and attempts to restart them.

Turn on logging of scheduled tasks and review the logs over a period of time.
You may turn up some clues as to what is occurring. Recurring tasks first
schedule themselves to run the next time, then they actually run the current
instance of the task. Perhaps logging can show you something messing up in the
reschedule process.

We occassionally see this as well, but not consistently. We only run 1 instance
of ColdFusion on the server and for the most part the scheduled tasks run as required,
but sometimes they run twice.

I'm not overly concerned at this point, but if any insight is found, I hope
you'll share it.
